Reminders!

Hello families,

Just a few reminders I wanted to share:

• Homework is assigned nightly and is due the next morning. Please see me if you are having trouble with any assignments or send a note to school with your student.
• The date for our Field Trip Shirt order has been extended to Friday, August 23.  The cost is $7.00 and students can wear them to all of our field trips and on Fridays with jeans. 
• Dollar Dress Down Days have been changed to the last Friday of the month which happens to be Friday, August 30th.

Welcome to 2nd Quarter!

Hi everyone!

I hope that  you all had a nice and relaxing Fall Break. Report cards were distributed on Friday, September 28th. Please make sure to sign the envelope and return it to me as soon as possible.  If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me at dalday@lpatucson.org.

First Full Week of the 2012-2013 School Year

Hi! So far, so good! I have a few reminders I want to let parents and guardians know about:

• Homework - Packets are given out on Monday and are due on Friday. The first packet is due 8/10/12.  Please see me if there are any questions that I can answer for you. 
• Discipline and Homework Contracts/Parent and Guardian Contact Information - The first days of school, your child received many different papers from me. If you have not yet, please read and sign the Discipline and Homework Contract and fill out the contact information so I know the best way to get a hold of you if necessary.  Thank you!
• Behavior and Talking in the Classroom - I would really appreciate discussing with your child the importance of being respectful and responsible in class and using appropriate times to talk.  I have noticed that the talking this week has interfered with completing work. Please look for a weekly progress report that I will be sending out this week with students, and sign it and return it by the following Monday. I won't always send out the weekly reports, but will as needed.  Thank you so much for your cooperation. 

I think that is it right now... One more thing: Thank you so much to everyone who helped contribute supplies to our classroom! I really appreciate it and we will put all of it to good use.

WELCOME 4TH GRADERS TO THE 2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR!!
Can you believe the first day of school is right around the corner? Thursday, August 2nd to be exact! I look forward to meeting all of my new students and parents. We are going to have an awesome time and year. Back to School!

Welcome to Mrs. Alday's 4th grade class!  The summer has flown by, and now it is time for a new school year!  I am looking forward to meeting all of my new students.  I know that we are going to have an amazing school year.  Students will be making new friends and learning new skills all while working in a positive learning environment.

Parents, please look for my first weekly newsletter which your child will receive on the first day of school.  If you could please sign the acknowledgement form attached to it that would be great.

Summer Time!

Way to go 4th graders! You are all now officially 5th graders! I'm so excited and proud of all of you and the progress that you have made.  It definitely was an awesome year. We had some amazing field trips like the Charlotte's Web play and the Desert Museum.  We had our Annual Talent Show with our very own Andrew performing. We had outstanding Character Students of the Month such as Aylin, Robert, Diana, Justin, Cristal, and Lyneah. To end it all, we had the best pool, eegee's, and pizza party! I will truly miss all of you and hope that you all come back to visit me and say "hi!"

Don't forget to keep those bright minds fresh this summer! Take some time to go to the library and get a new book.  Practice those multiplication and division facts. Show your 5th grade teachers what you are made of! :)
